This is something I wrote on my beliefs when I was like 13. I think it still holds true, and maybe you’ll listen to a 13 year old better than me.
I believe in Jesus Christ. He is my Savior. I believed he died and rose again on the third day. I believe in the mystery that Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit are three in one. If you aren’t a Christian that may not make much sense but that’s ok.
This is from the Bible, John 3:16
For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting light.
When it comes to the Bible I know that it doesn’t matter what the world says or what I think God says, it will be true. I have faith that comes from God.
But how do you know you can believe the Bible? Because it is trustworthy. When I read it I can’t find contradictions so when God asks me to have faith, to trust him, I can. I trust God because I want to.
If you would like to accept Christ right now. Just ask God. You can just tell him you would like to see what he is like and who he really is. You ask him like you would a friend or another person. Then one day, or even right now, you can believe that Jesus Christ is Lord and you will be saved.
You won’t be diving into a fantasy but reality. And if you ask God he’ll show you how real he is. I don’t think you have anything to lose if he isn’t real. And if he is you just might gain everything.
You know how you find Christians beating up on non-Christians for not believing?
Well, if God practices what he preaches and the Bible(which is God-breathed, God’s word)says to “Do unto others as you want them to do unto you” then Christians and non-believers need to realize that God doesn’t love them out of compulsion, manipulation, or duty, but because he wants to. And he wants the same from you. Don’t try to love him because you think you have too. He will wait for you, won’t ever withdraw his love, and will never give up.
Did you know you can tell God how angry you are at him and he won’t withdraw his love? Sometimes that’s how we get healing. By telling the other person how much we think they’ve hurt us.
Are you a Christian? What is your tactic to bring others to Christ, what do you tell people who you know are non-believers on a regular basis? Do you tell them about their sins?
According to Ephesians 5 we are just supposed to lead those who don’t know Christ to the light. And in the passages of the Bible concerning pointing out someone’s sin, isn’t it talking about fellow believers? I encourage you go look this up!
You know all the stuff I said earlier for the non-believers is true for you. You can tell God how angry you are at him, I guess you just have to trust God that [he will never leave you nor forsake you]. And you can fall away from God but he is always waiting for you to come back, he won’t withdraw his love from you, and will never give up.
Just a thought. Merry CHRISTmas whatever the day, month, or season!
